What is the difference between dry cargo vessels and bulk carriers?

Dry cargo vessels are used for the shipping of solid dry products that have higher tolerance to heat and cold.It includes metal ores, coal, steel products and grains

These ships have greater capacity to tolerate the high and low temperatures. These ships can tolerate the environmental conditions easily.
It is set  on deck cranes and other kinds of heavy machinery which supports in easy loading and unloading of freight. There are no any specific arrangements required to unload these ships. Dry cargo ships use in the conveyance of the bulky goods and coal from port to port in the world.

Dry cargo
Dry cargo ships are of two type bulk carriers and container ships.
Bulk carriers are used to transport unpackaged bulk cargo like metal, ores, grains, coal and cements. Approximately 40 percent of the world cargo is handled by the bulk carriers. South Korea is the largest bulk carriers builder in the world.
Dry cargo
Container ships are sea vessels that are used to transport things in large containers. To carry cargo through containers is also called containerization. Container ships are used to transport non bulky goods around the world.
 Bulk carriers
Main kinds of cargo ships
According to the weight and capacity of the load there are six major kinds of cargo ships.
It includes Handy size, Handymax, Panamax, Capesize and Very Large.
Some of the well-known bulk carriers are Seawaymax, Kamsarmax, Setouchmax, Dunkirkmax and Newcastlemax. The size of a bulk carrier can range from a small bulker with a capacity of under 10,000 dwt to the giant Capesize vessels with a capacity of up to 400,000 dead weight tonnage (DWT).

Container Ships:
Containerization is a best method of shipping because it decreases the transit time and as well as the cost. Container ships are used to transport all kinds of goods such as small toys to heavy goods.  Containerization changed the face of shipping and as well as it produced a revolution in the world of trade.Cargo To Africa offers safe and secure sea shipping services at highly affordable rates.

Handy size Ships:
Handy size ships are bulk dry carriers and have the capacity of over 10,000 DWT. They are mostly used to carriage dry cargo, goods such as grains, iron ores and  minerals.
Handy hip
 Panamax Ships:
Panamax and new Panamax cargo ships are vessels with average size. These vessels have an extreme cargo capacity of 13,000 TEU while the minimum capacity can be around 5000 TEU in a smaller ship.

European Airports show no increase in Air Freight

European Airports wait for good days

Research done by the ACI showed that there was very little increase in the volume of freights in European airports. In august compared to other years there was only a meagre 0.4 per cent increase and the Istanbul and Amsterdam consisted of the five hubs showing growth within the month.

Some airports are showing no increase while others are also decreasing in freight volumes.

The biggest airport for cargo in Europe is Frankfurt. This particular airport had a 4.7 per cent decrease with the latest checked volume being 162,904 tons. The second biggest airport is the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris which now reports 146, 000 tons after a 2.9 per cent drop.Other airports such as Heathrow also reported a decrease although somewhat less worrying at only 0.2 per cent.

European Airport
Airports that reported increased volumes were Schiphol by 0.7 per cent in the August month to 137,638 tons and Ataturk which stated an impressive growth of 16.4 per cent now at 66,229 tons. Although the other airports hold more volume the only significant increase between these airports occurred with Ataturk.

A spokesperson for the ACI,Olivier Jankovec does believe this is a cause for concern however remained positive that the excessive supply of oil will keep costs low.He also stated that regarding the whole issue of slow economic recovery and the contagion risk due to the slowdown he still believes the main issue for air traffic will always be the oil costs.
.
Air Freight Services
This particular year has shown a 0.9 per cent development. Rises have been shown at Heathrow and Ataturk, two of the top five freight airports. Heathrow had a 0.8 per cent growth to 985,625 tons and Ataturk increase by 7.6 per cent reaching 502,658 tons.

The other three of the tope fie just seems to show a decrease although they still have a huge ton volume.Complications in Russia have caused the airports loss with reported drops of up to 19 per cent and lower decreases in other airports around the same time.

Air
German airports have also had decreases in a range of airports such as Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, cologne and others. However they also report increases and rises in Munich, Hamburg and Hanover. This was reported in August. In the august reports there was a 7.6 per cent increase in Munich taking it to 26,127 tons and Hamburg also had a slight increase of one per cent.

The biggest increase however was Hanover which had a growth of 225.9 per cent to 479 tons. Again other airports showed decreases although none had a drop larger than 5 per cent.

Collision at Sea Tac airport

Two southwest airline planes had to be placed out of service due to a collision at the international airport

Seattle times informed that it was a slow moving collision following which the planes were removed from service. Early Monday morning, around 6.30 am was when this collision took place.
Awaiting towing for boarding the planes were fine until one of them, a Boejing 737 rolled forward, by mistake and the front of the plane then clashed with the wing of another waiting plane.

This was reported by the times after speaking to a spokesman from the airport where the incident took place. A thorough analysis is being carried out as to what the cause was and both planes are not in use at the moment. There were no injuries and no serious damage occurred however an investigation is still being carried out to avoid the like happening again.

Seattle Tacoma
Speaking to the times Mr. Cooper insisted that the accident was a rare occurrence and “all of the airlines are very safe about moving them around”. However according to Mike Cantrell this should never have happened. Speaking to KIRO he believed there was no excuse and indicated that the financial loss for an occurrence like this is very high.

A southwest spokeswoman wrote to the times telling them that the aircrafts are both being thoroughly examined to determine whether any repairs should be carried out before resuming services. When they will return to service and how long the whole evaluation will take has not been made clear for both the jets. All that is known is Southwest’s current investigation to identify the cause of this expensive and inexcusable collision.

Sea Tac airport

With two planes out of service delays are expected however workers are trying their best to assist the passengers affected by this Sea-Tac incident. A close up view of the collision was provided by NBC DFW.  A quick thinking worker also filmed the incident from where she was which gave a new angle to analyze. Unfortunately just less than a month ago Oakland international airport had a similar incident where the wings off two southwest planes clashed.

Although again there were no injuries and no serious damage was done, it was significantly expensive and two similar events in one month indicates that the whole system needs to be thoroughly analyzed and necessary changes must be made to ensure that these accidents do not become a frequent occurrence.
