UK Africa Trade Heading Towards Complications

The confusion starts to show as the clock starts ticking

Africa is a poor country and its poverty is not due to inadequate resources or due to insufficient money. The problem is that these resources are not equally divided. The one in power in any department is a winner and others get what is left by the higher community. The slavery in the continent is not over in the real sense; it now prevails in another form called food reliance. Still African countries trade in food items and machinery to get the system going.

This way the relations among the countries can be made strong and it will put a positive influence on international trade. But there are some problems that hinder strongly in the path.
African Countries
One is the tough restrictions for trade among the countries and other is the high tariffs for intra-African trade. When such conditions are applied how can be the establishment of continental free trade area become possible. The main thing that has to be attended first is to straighten up the government departments, develop a strong infrastructure without corruption and then distribute the resources equally among all levels.

Complex Situation for Africa:
When a situation like UK Brexit is faced by a developed country the problems are equal to none. But when you are talking about Africa the situation is not that simple.
Sea Cargo
Africa is a part of Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) which is very valuable for it to stay with European Union. And obviously, when UK exits from EU all the agreements will be terminated. But this is not the case with Africa as it has to keep up with the UK as well as EU and some strong agreements are expected Cargo from UK To African countries to assure them what the future of trade will be between them and how things would work.

What will the UK do in this Context?

To cope with the present situation UK government has assured some 48 least developed countries to give duty-free access to its markets and this way they are securing them. But the problem is that what about the rest of them.
Brexit
In Africa there are some countries which are developed, this means that their future is in danger. So, whatever agreement is to be made it should be of advantage to all and not a specific quota. Africa is in a state of dilemma that what Brexit will bring to it as its reliance on UK for development projects and trade is a serious matter.

Collision at Sea Tac airport

Two southwest airline planes had to be placed out of service due to a collision at the international airport

Seattle times informed that it was a slow moving collision following which the planes were removed from service. Early Monday morning, around 6.30 am was when this collision took place.
Awaiting towing for boarding the planes were fine until one of them, a Boejing 737 rolled forward, by mistake and the front of the plane then clashed with the wing of another waiting plane.

This was reported by the times after speaking to a spokesman from the airport where the incident took place. A thorough analysis is being carried out as to what the cause was and both planes are not in use at the moment. There were no injuries and no serious damage occurred however an investigation is still being carried out to avoid the like happening again.

Seattle Tacoma
Speaking to the times Mr. Cooper insisted that the accident was a rare occurrence and “all of the airlines are very safe about moving them around”. However according to Mike Cantrell this should never have happened. Speaking to KIRO he believed there was no excuse and indicated that the financial loss for an occurrence like this is very high.

A southwest spokeswoman wrote to the times telling them that the aircrafts are both being thoroughly examined to determine whether any repairs should be carried out before resuming services. When they will return to service and how long the whole evaluation will take has not been made clear for both the jets. All that is known is Southwest’s current investigation to identify the cause of this expensive and inexcusable collision.

Sea Tac airport

With two planes out of service delays are expected however workers are trying their best to assist the passengers affected by this Sea-Tac incident. A close up view of the collision was provided by NBC DFW.  A quick thinking worker also filmed the incident from where she was which gave a new angle to analyze. Unfortunately just less than a month ago Oakland international airport had a similar incident where the wings off two southwest planes clashed.

Although again there were no injuries and no serious damage was done, it was significantly expensive and two similar events in one month indicates that the whole system needs to be thoroughly analyzed and necessary changes must be made to ensure that these accidents do not become a frequent occurrence.
